Macbeth killed banquo. Because Macbeth heard the witches say he will also be king. They said that Banquo will have lots of children who can be King but he will never be King himself. Upsetting for him I guess. He doesn't say. Macbeth even asks him whether or not he hopes his children will become kings and Banquo does not answer him. Good Conquers Evil. To ensure the murderers will 'dispatch' kill Banquo, Macbeth tells them, 'Banquo was your enemy, So he is mine'.
Basically, you do not like Banquo and therefore, neither do I. So I encourage you to kill him. It was very manipulative of Macbeth to say this to the murderers. He also threatens their manhood, compares them to dogs and applies various other tactics so he can feel certain they will kill Banquo and Banquo's son, Fleance.
Banquo explained that he had been unable to sleep. He said that 'cursed thoughts' [Line 8] were keeping him awake. Most likely, he was referring to the witches' predictions of his fathering a long line of kings of Scotland, in Act 1 Scene 2. It is pronounced "las ah-ME-gahs".

When, before the murder, Macbeth offers to help increase Banquo's honour, Banquo replies, "So I lose none in seeking to augment it, but still keep my bosom franchised and allegiance clear, I shall be counsell'd. No it is not weird it is impossible.
I'm really not sure. I would say, Banquo had will. His will out weighed any temptations he had towards his goals. Though, just as ambitious as Macbeth, Banquo held back, happy to sit in the back seat as Macbeth explored the front row.
This, truthfully would have been better in the long run you know what they say about the tortoise and the hare if it wasn't for Macbeth's greed and paranoia.
